BRIEF HISTORY OF IPSPJ

IPSPJ was established in Cameroon Central Africa by Cardinal Prof. Dominion E. S. Joseph on the 2nd of February, 2020, for the promotion of Peace and Unity of the English and French-speaking Cameroonians and the co-peaceful existence of Africans, Europeans, Asians, Americans and the entire continent of the world. It was created to promote international peace, safety, and justice, working toward global diplomacy and fostering cooperation among nations


FOUNDING AND EARLY DEVELOPMENT

The founder sought to create an independent body promoting peace, safety, and justice through dialogue, legal frameworks, and education. Since its inception, the Parliament has been involved in peace advocacy, mediation, and humanitarian efforts, often collaborating with other international organizations such as the United Nations and various governmental agencies. The International Parliament for Safety, Peace, and Justice exists to promote safety, peace, and justice around the world. Drawing attention to Insecurity, Conflict and Injustice which contravene national and internationally accepted standards of human behaviours and reminding all nations to fulfil their obligations under the United Nations convention and agreement which they are signatures to peaceful co-existence in the entire world. At this critical time in the history of humanity, every nation needs to embrace peace in light of the increasing political, tension, terrorism and security challenges in our nations. IPSJ has come as a voice and as an instrument to Educate, Teach, Train, Inform and Sensitize the general public on the conversance of these three keys, which are: Safety, Peace and Justice to all mankind. IPSPJ is committed to the safety, peace, justice, and promotion, around the world. IPSPJ seeks to accomplish these three goals through partnering with government, inter-government and non-governmental organizations to inform, knowledge transfer and development, Promotion of dialogue training and information distribution, bring people together and reminding them of our common humanity of the same creator which is one God.

On this note, IPSPJ is devoted to strengthening the idea of Safety, Peace and Justice both within and among all people and nations The IPSPJ has achieved much since its establishment in Africa, it has created much impact in many African countries reminding us that we are responsible for the Safety, Peace and Justice of all Humanity. Peace can only be achieved if people can respect each other’s views. Peace provides a valuable opportunity for us to assess our progress. When people start to respect others feeling and their religion, peace starts to develop in that region. IPSPJ has held several international peace conferences workshops and seminars in many African countries such as Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, etc.

The International Parliament for Safety, Peace and Justice is incorporated in South Africa, Cameroon and Ghana in the services of social culture affairs with decree number 507G.37C84VOLI/SASC to serve as the international world headquarters, and it has now spread to Europe, Asia and America.


STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF IPSPJ

The IPSPJ operates as a parliamentary body that includes a range of representatives, such as diplomats, government officials, scholars, and peace advocates from various countries. It is structured similarly to a parliamentary system, with councils and committees focused on different aspects of peace and justice, including human rights, international law, public safety, environmental security, and education.

The organization’s leadership has included, jurists, and international diplomats, many of whom have extensive backgrounds in law, conflict resolution, and international relations. These leaders work to advise governments, NGOs, and international bodies on how to maintain peace, justice, and security within their regions. IPSPJ is in partnership with other internationally recognised peace organizations such as The Global Forum For Peace Justice and Human Rights and The International Association of World Peace Advocates which has recommended IPSPJ to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Development, United Nations Economic and Social Affairs, United Nations of Drugs and Crime, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, United Global Compact and various governmental agencies Internationally to help achieve its aims and objectives. We are open to affiliating with other international and local organizations to help maintain safety, peace and justice in our world.

ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES

The IPSPJ engages in several activities that focus on:

  1. Peace Promotion and Mediation: IPSPJ mediates conflicts and promotes peace in regions affected by war, political instability, or social unrest. It works in collaboration with local and international authorities to facilitate dialogue between conflicting parties and offer solutions based on diplomacy and international law.
  2. Human Rights Advocacy: The organization champions the defence of human rights, focusing on vulnerable populations including women, children, and refugees. It regularly raises awareness about violations of human rights in war-torn regions and advocates for legal and political measures to protect those at risk.
  3. Educational Programs: IPSPJ also focuses on education, particularly in the fields of peace studies, diplomacy, and international law. It organizes conferences, seminars, and training programs aimed at educating future leaders about the importance of peaceful conflict resolution, legal justice, and human rights advocacy.
  4. Collaboration with International Bodies: Over the years, the IPSPJ has developed a strong network with the United Nations, European Union, and African Union, among other global organizations. Its experts provide advice and recommendations on global peace initiatives, international law, and human rights issues.
  5. Humanitarian Efforts: The Parliament also undertakes humanitarian missions, offering aid to people affected by natural disasters, conflict, and poverty. They promote efforts in health, safety, and community development in underdeveloped or conflict-affected areas.

RECOGNITION AND INFLUENCE

Though it is not a formal political body like the United Nations, the IPSPJ has gained recognition and respect for its work in international peace and conflict resolution. Over the years, many of its diplomats and representatives have been invited to participate in high-level discussions on global peace and security. It has also contributed to the drafting of international legal frameworks that protect human rights and ensure the safety of civilians during conflicts.

It has a significant presence in Africa, America, Europe, the Arab World and parts of Asia, where its initiatives have been critical in mediating disputes and advocating for peace.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

In recent decades, the IPSPJ has continued to expand its work, focusing more on issues such as climate security, environmental justice, and the growing threats posed by global terrorism. The Parliament recognizes that these modern challenges are intertwined with international peace and safety, and thus has integrated environmental and security experts into its working groups.
